Digital Barriers is proud to announce its sponsorship of the Intelligence Corps Rugby Football Union team for the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons. The Intelligence Corps is renowned around the world for its expertise in gathering, analysing and disseminating military intelligence and its role in counter-intelligence and security. The Corps is now co-located with the Defence Intelligence and Security Centre (DISC) at Chicksands, providing specialist skills in human, signal and imagery intelligence and electronic warfare.
With Digital Barriers aspiring to bring innovative surveillance technologies to organisations in law enforcement, defence and beyond, the invitation to sponsor the Intelligence Corps presented an excellent opportunity to support the UK’s experts in operational intelligence, surveillance and security. Founded in 2004, the Intelligence Corps Rugby Football Union team plays in the Army Rugby Union’s Corps Competition. A squad of around 60 players balance the demands of the contemporary operational environment, with the desire to represent their Corps and test themselves against the best rugby teams in the Army. Having recently won the Army 10s Competition, the 2011-12 seasons kicks off on the 19th of October at Middle Wallop with a game against the Army Air Corps and Digital Barriers would like to wish the team all best for the forthcoming season. Visit Intelligence Corps Rugby for more information on the team.
"Sponsorship of the Intelligence Corps Rugby Football Union by Digital Barriers is a fantastic prospect. We are delighted to have found such a likeminded partner – with whom we share many professional similarities, including a belief in the benefits that competitive sport can bring to the workplace,” commented Major Richard Stevens, Chairman of the Intelligence Corps Rugby Football Union.
Colin Evans, Managing Director Digital Barriers responds, “We are delighted to support an organisation with the traditions of the Intelligence Corps. With the demands currently placed on UK military, and in particular the expertise of its most highly trained specialists, we are pleased to be able to support Intelligence Corps Rugby as they take on the daunting challenge of competing against the rest of the Army Rugby Union."
