But the distances, terrains and environments involved can make surveillance a major challenge for conventional technologies. Effective border monitoring and detection requires adaptable, intelligent and autonomous surveillance solutions.

Digital Barriers provides proven solutions for border monitoring, employing fixed surveillance, rapidly deployable remote surveillance and wide-area imaging and processing. We integrate multiple sensor types (including visible, thermal and radar,) as well as applying advanced detection and tracking (including sub-pixel) of objects in land, air and maritime environments. Our technologies are proven in ‘real-world’ conditions, with border agencies adopting our solutions for border monitoring and to improve distribution of surveillance in the field.

Wide-area imaging and stand-off detection

We are recognised as experts in advanced image and data processing, applying a range of techniques to enhance situational awareness along land, air and maritime borders. Our key capabilities include detection and tracking in cluttered environments, object extraction and classification, object and background enhancement/suppression and panoramic imaging. We are also able to fuse a range of sensor and data types for bespoke applications.

Rapidly deployable border surveillance

We combine unattended ground sensors with remote wireless surveillance streaming and sensor fusion/processing to provide a rapidly deployable solution for wide-area border monitoring. Our technologies are lightweight, low power and simple to deploy, making them suitable for temporary installation and tactical surveillance needs. However, they are also IP rated and robust, making them suitable for long-term deployment into harsh environments.

Border surveillance command and control 

We provide surveillance infrastructure design for complex border security projects, ensuring video viewing and recording across multiple control rooms and along extensive borders. In addition, we supply video transmission and management equipment that is engineered for long distances and high-quality viewing – even in extremes of temperature and over harsh environmental operating ranges. We can also incorporate ruggedised mobile surveillance.
