Law Enforcement

Government security agencies are required to counter a range of threats and incidents, from terrorism and organised crime, to public safety, requiring diverse surveillance capabilities. An increasing emphasis on intelligence-led operations, coupled with practical resource constraints, has elevated the importance of surveillance technologies in support of decision-making and tactical operations.

Digital Barriers has extensive experience of working with law enforcement and other security agencies, developing and deploying surveillance capabilities to support investigative and security functions. Our areas of focus include covert remote surveillance, mobile (e.g. body worn, vehicle mounted) surveillance, as well as perimeter surveillance, specialist thermal imaging and surveillance/security integration for high-security sites and assets/VVIPs.

National and urban surveillance intelligence

Continued growth in camera surveillance networks is creating growing volumes of video data, with the potential to provide valuable information for counterterrorism, criminal investigations and incident response. However, the scale and often widespread distribution of this data can make it difficult to exploit. We support organisations in designing and developing surveillance management infrastructures that optimise the access and analysis of video intelligence.

Covert remote surveillance

We have developed a wireless video surveillance solution that is transforming remote covert surveillance over mobile networks such as GPRS and 3G. Unlike conventional approaches  (that employ standard video codecs, such as MPEG4 and H.264), we combine our proprietary video codec with active transmission management, thereby achieving higher video quality with fixed frame rates and low latency in camera control. Our solution is low power, quick to deploy and is very cost-effective to operate in comparison to other options, such as COFDM.

High-security site and VVIP protection

We offer a range of specialist services to support the design, deployment and maintenance of surveillance and security capabilities in high-security and VVIP locations. With a particular depth of expertise in advanced thermal imaging and physical security – as well as experience of working with best of breed equipment from buried sensors to access control and security integration – we are recognised as a leading provider of high-end surveillance solutions
