Low-power wireless networking and innovative rapid deployment design underpin our next generation UGS

Smart networks of wireless sensor nodes that self-form and self-heal for a more resilient and adaptive solution

Remote Monitoring

Borders, perimeters and infrastructure pipelines that are remote and span long distances present particular challenges for surveillance. They can often involve harsh environmental conditions. Advances in discreet sensors, processing and wireless networking are providing new cost-effective and rapidly deployable options for remote and rapidly deployable intrusion detection and target recognition.

The Zimiti unattended ground sensor system from Digital Barriers is a lightweight, low power remote detection solution that is deployed as a self-forming, self-healing wireless network of sensors. It combines sensor nodes that can be configured to detect and identify a range of activities (such as vehicles) and a peer-to-peer RF network to provide robust communications across multiple nodes. The Zimiti system can be deployed quickly and monitored remotely from anywhere in the world, providing a highly flexible solution. It can be combined with other technologies, such as the TVI wireless surveillance solution, for complete remote monitoring.

APPLICATIONS

Remote perimeter monitoring solutions from Digital Barriers include Remote Pipeline and Infrastructure Monitoring, Tactical Perimeter Intrusion Detection. The Zimiti UGS is also ideal for other situations where a rapidly deployable, simple to configure and long-life detection capability is required – providing a simple to configure alternative to conventional military-style UGS systems. Both the Zimiti unattended ground sensor (UGS) and TVI wireless surveillance solutions are compact, cost-effective, and suitable for deployment into harsh environments.

INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY

The Zimiti wireless networking and sensor technologies that underpin the Digital Barriers unattended surveillance offerings bring new possibilities in terms of rapid deployment, long battery and service life (up to six months), remote monitoring and covert applications. These are made possible by our unique design and engineering of antennae, power optimisation and RF networking, as well as our insights into the form factors and characteristics required in ‘real world’ deployments for different environments and military/civil surveillance applications.

KEY CAPABILITIES

Digital Barriers offers ready-to-deploy unattended surveillance solutions and can also apply its core networking and sensor technologies to create more tailored solutions – combining these with other technologies, such as sensor fusion or wireless video streaming, as required.

Zimiti Covert-Intrusion Detection System (C-IDS)
The Zimiti covert intrusion detection system variant (C-IDS) features a discreet seismic sensor and networking node (only the top is visible when buried), making it is easy to camouflage and avoid detection. The system is small and lightweight enough to be carried by a single person and consists of the sensor node and communications gateway. It is rapidly deployable based on insertion of each node into a small hole in the ground and automatic configuration of the radio network to determine most robust communications path to the gateway.

TVI R300 (ruggedised unit)
Ruggedised compact wireless surveillance solution in a IP67 rated enclosure for use in harsh environments, featuring Amphenol connectors and lockable/concealed SIM carrier.
