Zero Latency. Low Bandwidth. Video Anywhere.

EdgeVis provides real-time video streaming from anywhere to anywhere - even over wireless networks - saving data costs by using 60% less bandwidth than standard technologies.

“Standards-based” video transmission systems struggle to deliver a quality service when operating over wireless networks. Video streams stall and break up, and delivering video with several seconds’ latency is the only way to deliver smooth frame rates.

In a world that is rapidly going wireless, and where users want to see, in real time, what is going on, EdgeVis Live is the answer.

EdgeVis Live is ideal for getting video from moving vehicles such as buses, trains or even ambulances, as well as those difficult-to-protect remote assets such as oil pipelines and power substations. With our rapid deployment kits, it is also ideal for safeguarding high profile events or protecting public safety.

Based on our patented TVI video compression technology, EdgeVis Live provides a secure, scalable video-transmission platform, able to stream video live from cameras to users over any, but especially wireless, networks.

Developed for the highly demanding world of military surveillance, where losing a video feed or even a few seconds' latency may be the difference between life or death, EdgeVis Live is now the proven choice for the most demanding users in the defence, law enforcement, transport, energy and public-safety markets in more than 30 countries worldwide.

What is EdgeVis Live?

EdgeVis Live is a wireless distribution platform, based on our TVI video-compression technology. It is designed to allow organisations, for the first time, to provide a video-transmission capability, allowing users to access cameras anywhere in the world in real time. EdgeVis does this in a secure, cost-effective manner that is 60 per cent more efficient than using “standards-based” video-transmission technology.

EdgeVis Live extends up from entry-level wireless video transmission, to a fully fledged wireless video-distribution platform, designed for the world’s most demanding users.

How do I upgrade from TVI to EdgeVis Live?

  1. Decide what TVI devices will be transitioned to EdgeVis
Before continuing, calculate the numbers and types of encoders you will want to support on your server.
  2. Sign up for a new EdgeVis support contract
Access to the EdgeVis software will only be provided to those customers with an active support contract.
  3. Obtain a new EdgeVis licence key
You will be issued a new licence pack to install onto your existing TVI Server in preparation of the upgrade. This will mirror the devices you specified in Step 1 and will ensure you do not lose any functionality.
  4. Install the new EdgeVis Server
Download and install the new EdgeVis Server software. All existing accounts are preserved and your server will continue to operate as before. For IP Series and Q Series (MiniCam) devices there is a final step, which is to assign manually the new EdgeVis licences, using Web Manager.
  5. Install the new EdgeVis viewing clients
While existing clients will continue to have functionality, you should install the new EdgeVis Client to take advantage of the new EdgeVis capabilities.

Customers who decide not to transition to EdgeVis can continue to operate their TVI Server with its current capabilities. New purchases will only be available with EdgeVis licences and must operate on an EdgeVis server.  For more information please download the customer-information pack.
