ThruVis wins Security & Fire Excellence award
ThruVis, Digital Barriers' unique passive people-screening camera, has been named Counter-Terrorism Innovation of the Year.
Our market-leading technology took the honours at the Security & Fire Excellence Awards at the London Hilton on Park Lane on November 23.
Every year around 1,000 of the industry’s foremost practitioners gather to recognise and honour the achievements of their peers, at the sell-out event.
The 18th annual awards received a record number of quality entries, highlighting the very best people, projects and processes that the security and fire sectors have to offer, so it is an especially great achievement to be a winner this year.
ThruVis was selected from five finalists developing counter-terrorism products, services, solutions or projects.
Comedian Jimmy Carr, host of television’s 8 out of 10 cats, entertained the audience and was on hand to make the presentations.
Richard Revis and Brian Craig accepted the Counter-Terrorism Innovation of the Year award on behalf of Digital Barriers.
It is the second prestigious award that ThruVis has carried off this year, having also been selected by Frost & Sullivan as the 2016 European leader for Technology Innovation in Terahertz Security.
ThruVis detects concealed firearms, suicide bomb vests, illegal powders and liquids at a range of up to 15 metres.
The technology is also perfectly safe, while images generated do not pose any privacy concerns as no anatomical details are revealed.
Units are lightweight, easily deployed and bring a mobile alternative to security screening systems that are largely fixed.
