Conventional video codecs are not designed for transmission over low bandwidth and constrained networks. Typically image break-up or delay renders video feeds unusable.
Our world-leading EdgeVis Live technology offers real-time video streaming with none of these issues. It will transmit reliably and securely to multiple viewers simultaneously, offering control rooms and response units an immediate view of events, even in the most remote environments.
EdgeVis Live was specifically developed to overcome the problems of streaming over low bandwidth wireless networks, and will reliably deliver usable and continuous video and audio even over GPRS/2G/Satellite at bandwidths as low as 9kbps.
There are significant savings in data too as our unique technology uses around 60% less bandwidth than standard video transmission systems, making video feeds cost effective as well as viable. Even over constrained networks, there is the option to zoom in on areas of particular interest and retrieve high-resolution images.
EdgeVis Shield, our integrated surveillance platform, combines this cutting-edge low-bandwidth video-streaming technology with power-efficient unattended ground sensors.
Our covert ground sensors weigh just 0.4kg, are simple to camouflage, have a unique screw-in design for ease of use, can be deployed with minimal training to monitor seismic activity, and have batteries that last up to six months, allowing for extended deployments.
Control rooms and tactical response units receive an immediate and simple view of alarm events courtesy of real-time video from fixed and mobile cameras, while contributions from unmanned aerial vehicles, ground radar, and video analytics can also be incorporated into the operational picture.
Video streams can be distributed to central command and other mobile units as required and integrated into existing video management systems.
So whatever the terrain, a comprehensive view of vulnerable areas is available, providing the intelligence for a coordinated and timely response.
